A Teacher Assistant supports the transdisciplinary team and assists with instruction under the supervision of the classroom teacher. A Teacher Assistant must accept assignments and/or classroom placement, as determined by program needs and may be required to travel to satellite locations. They must perform duties within and outside the classroom.
A Teacher Assistant must be able to consistently and successfully perform the essential functions of the position as outlined in the classroom standards manual.
- Assist in instruction and fulfillment of IEP mandates
- Implement established behavior plan(s)
- Ability to assume teacher responsibilities
- Assist teacher to implement and monitor individual lesson plans, data collection and charting systems
- Assist in conducting classroom activities that enhance opportunity to develop skills in areas of need
- Assist with routine classroom functions
- Assist with home-school communication
- Assist with all required paperwork to be completed
- Ability to travel to satellite locations upon request

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am-3:30pm or 8:30am-3:30pm based on placement, full year position
Paid Time Off: 12 days per fiscal year
